FIELD TOOLS / USB EXPERIMENTAL

POSTMARKETOS // DEVICE INSTALLER 0.1

Flash your Mi A3.

Xiaomi Mi A3 (laurel_sprout) only. Writes the generic ready build over fastboot: slot b plus userdata, stock Android stays on slot a. Everything runs in this browser; nothing is uploaded.

Experimental: only continue if you know how to get back. Slot a still holds stock Android: fastboot set_active a then fastboot -w gets it back, or flash a stock ROM with the usual tools.

PHONE MUST BE IN FASTBOOT · BOOTLOADER UNLOCKED

Flash the postmarketOS server image

MI A3 / FASTBOOT

Writes vbmeta.img to vbmeta_b, erases dtbo_b, writes rootfs.img to userdata and boot.img to boot_b, then switches to slot b and reboots. Same steps as simple-install/flash.sh.

  1. 01

Unlocked bootloader needed (fastboot flashing unlock, wipes the phone; see the README).

  2. 02

Power off. Hold Volume Down + Power until the FASTBOOT screen shows, then plug in USB.

  3. 03

Connect first: it tells you right away if the phone is busy. Then download the images or pick the three files you already have. Every file's size and SHA-256 is checked before anything is written (the previous build's files are accepted too).

Put the phone in fastboot mode, then connect.

After pressing Flash, scroll down to Activity and wait until the final step, 12, says Done. Takes a few minutes. If it stops earlier, put the phone back in fastboot, press Retry connect and flash again (no page reload needed).
